McQueen High School Bioregional Outdoor ClassroomAt the bioregional outdoor classroom we developed the master pland and helped build the garden with student participation. It was designed using our unique approach to landscapes using bioregions. We strive to create landscape that "fit," that is, look as if they may have sprung from the natural landscape. The meadows, mountains, and deserts that surround Reno have inspired us to develop distinct landscape treatments.
The entrance exhibit describes each bioregiona and includes a site map. This project was partially funded abbey an Urban and Community Forestry Grant from the Nevada Division of Forestry and the USDA Forest Service in partnership with UNR Cooperative Extension. The Washoe County School District is an equal opportunity server. |
